If you’d rather take your car, motorbike, bicycle or pet with you on holiday, travelling by ferry is a good option allowing you to reach Sardinia easily.

Several ferry companies operate year-round more than 20 links with the island, with departures from various ports in Italy, France and Spain: Civitavecchia, Genoa, Livorno, Naples, Piombino, Nice, Porto Vecchio, Toulon and Barcelona.

Booking a ticket is easy: on any browser, such as Google or Bing, enter “Ferries to Sardinia”, and select from the various ferry companies (Moby Lines, Tirrenia, Grimaldi Lines, Sardinia Ferries, GNV, Dimaio Lines, Snav and SNCM). Enter your dates of arrival and departure, number and ages of passengers and type of vehicle. The system will return a price and you can then purchase the tickets.

Ferry companies often publish low-cost offers to reach Sardinia by sea. They also operate more frequent ferry runs in the summer months, when tourist flow is higher.

If you want to save yourself the hassle of making your own reservations, you can of course book through any travel agency.
